Soul Track Mind is a popular music group from Austin, Texas with an original sound that blends soul, blues, r&b, funk, and jazz.[1] The initial lineup came together in June 2008 (led by vocalist Donovan Keith and guitarist Jonathon Zemek) and eventually began a weekly residency in East Austin juke joint TC's Lounge before branching out into other major entertainment markets.[2] Their regular public performances (over 100 a year) and debut album "Ghost of Soul" have generated significant media attention including an article in The New York Times Magazine where they were listed as part of a nationwide soul resurgence.[3]
Notable public performances include ESPN The Magazine's Next tailgate (Super Bowl XLV), Memphis' Overton Park (Levitt Shell), 2011 Taste of New Orleans Fiesta event, MyOldKentucky Blog SXSW kickoff and KTSW's My Radio Fest.[4][5][6][7][8] In 2011, they were named finalists in three categories of the Austin Music Awards - best new band, best blues/soul/funk performance and best male vocals.[9]
